JUNIOR GOLF TOUR
NEJGT is a series of junior
golf tournaments held over 15 different golf courses between Pittsburgh
and Altoona, PA during June, July and August of 2008. All events are held
on weekdays in the morning. There is also a 2-day Tour Championship in
August. Anyone who has played in at least 3 of our regular events is qualified
to play in the Tour Championship. (This is different than in other years).
History
2008 will be our 10th year having played 165 tournaments with a total
of over 2,800 members. At the PIAA West Regional at Tom’s Run on 10/15/07,
7 of the top 11 boys and 7 of the top 11 girls played on our Tour including
both top finishers.
In October 2007, Hollidaysburg High School won the Pennsylvania
State Team Championship. Every member of that team played on our Tour.
Again in 2008
Because of the difficulty in getting the best players for our Tour Championship
we have changed the qualification completely. The change was made mainly
because of high school golf which we want all kids to play. This year
instead of a point system all members are qualified to play if they play
at least 3 of our regular events.
2008 Membership Information
